Less is (no) More
The Coronavirus pandemic has now closed all non-essential venues, which includes galleries. So, similar to other events, I have decided to make my images available via my website. You can see them at https://photo.christophrm.com/less_is_more.
Enjoy

Biennale 2013 at Venice @ 1/8 per second

This year was my first ever visit to a Biennale in Venice. I had only 3 days in Venice of which I spent 2 days at the Biennale. I felt that 2 days were just enough to get an idea of the art on display. I could have spent at least a week wandering between and looking at the pictures, sculptures and installations.
I did bring my camera but did not set out to take pictures of art on display. I wanted to record the what happened in front of and how people interacted with / responded to the art. I used a low shutter speed of 1/8 sec to record movement of people and/or art.
The area of the Biennale in Venice is massive and you have to keep moving if you want to see everything in 2 days, as I planned to. This is what I saw.
(Taking) Pictures at an Exhibition

I took these pictures during my visit to the MUMOK (Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation Vienna) late 2012. The MUMOK is one of the two art museums at the Museumsquartier (MQ) in Vienna, Austria. The other one is the Leopold Museum. By the way the MQ is with its 60,000 m² the eighth largest cultural area in the world (according to Wikipedia).
re: photo exhibition
Hi,
A quick note to let you know that I will exhibiting some of my photography from Thursday Dec 13th until Christmas Eve at Frendz Gallery, 20 Moore Ave, West Lindfield NSW 2070. I will be joining painters Rosemary Raiche and Kerry Thompson in Kerry’s Little Firefly (temporary) Gallery .
I will have 6 large framed prints as well as smaller matted prints and greeting cards for sale. As I am sharing the gallery there will also be Kerry’s and Rosemary’s paintings and prints, a wide range of cards, tiles and fridge art for people on a budget who would like to take just a bit home with them or to share as gifts.
On Sunday, 16th Dec from 3 – 5 pm I’d love you to join Kerry, Rosemary and me, for drinks.
Cheers,
