Last weekend the east coast of Australia experienced heavy rain and wild storms which eroded beaches by up to 50 meters. Today, Wednesday I visited Collaroy and Dee Why on Sydney’s northern beaches. While the sun has returned the sand has not.
The rain has gone, the sun has returned. A beautiful morning at Mona Vale, though the beach is closed.
Between Mona Vale and Warriewood there is a rock formation right on the beach. It’s impressive how the sea has sculptured the rock. Here are some images I took with my phone today.

We just spent three days at Gerroa, south of Sydney. The very strong wind created many interesting shapes in the beach sand.
On the Easter Weekend we spent a day in the Blue Mountains outside Sydney. It was interesting to see how the trees made different statements as the sun and shadows moved during the day. And at times the mountains actually looked blue.
I had another look and brought back these pictures.
1788, Australia’s first European settlers – British convicts and their overseers – claimed the land and built their camp atop the sandstone cliffs. This area is today called The Rocks.
